Available to select users, the Formulary module can be used to search and view drug information including complete drug monographs. Currently, the Formulary module contains information from the Hamilton Health Sciences (HHS) drug formulary only. 

You can search the drug formulary by Drug Name or Drug Classifcation or a combination of both.

Searching by Drug Name

Enter the generic or trade name of the drug you are looking for as shown above then click the Search button. The search results will display in the view as shown below and can be selected to view additional drug information.

Formulary options

 

Once you’ve selected the drug, there are several tabs of information that you can choose to view. You can set your preferences default to the tab of your choice as described below. You can also print the information presented in the tabs by selecting the Print  icon.

To return to the Formulary search screen, close the view with the X in the right corner.

 

Searching by Drug Classifications

The formulary contains a drug classification list that displays drugs by their classifications. Select the drug classification dropdown list, then click on the classification of drugs you’re interested in then, click the Search button. A list of drugs that fall under that classification will display in the view as shown below.

To view additional drug information, click on the drug line item.  Notice the additional tabs of information that may be available for the selected drug.

To return to the Formulary search screen, close the view with the X in the right corner.

 

Formulary Preferences

You can customize the Formulary by applying the preferences as shown below. The Default View can be set to display one of the six tabs as shown in the dropdown.  By default, the view will display the General Information tab for the selected drug.

Once you’ve made your changes, click Save & Apply to save your default preference selections.
