A physician approved as a Sole Practitioner Participant in ClinicalConnect may request access to the clinical viewer for another Physician who, on a temporary basis, will be fulfilling the Sole Practitioner’s duties in their private practice while the Sole Practitioner is absent. Access to the portal for a Locum Physician can be up to a maximum of one calendar year, and the individual must be an Active member of the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) throughout the period of their temporary ClinicalConnect access.

Sole Practitioner (Physician) Participants in ClinicalConnect who wish to request temporary access to the portal for another physician must email the ClinicalConnect Program Office at access@clinicalconnect.ca, identifying the names of the physicians you are requesting temporary access for during your absence. The ClinicalConnect Program Office will respond with an Access Request Form that the Sole Practitioner must complete and submit. Upon receipt, the ClinicalConnect Program Office will contact the Locum Physician to request additional information from them, including a copy of their Statement of Protection from the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA). If additional Identity Verification is required, the ClinicalConnect Program Office will arrange a suitable time to complete this via secure video conferencing prior to account provisioning.
