Update on Data from Joseph Brant Hospital

On Sunday, November 1, 2026, Joseph Brant Hospital (JBH) went live with its new Hospital Information System. Part of the project was to "re-integrate" ClinicalConnect with this new system. As a result, please take note of the following important updates related to viewing data from JBH:

  • Data from JBH will display with “Joseph Brant Hospital” as the “Facility Name”, however now there are two "Sources":

    • Source = Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital, for data retrieved from the legacy HIS

    • Source = JBH, for data retrieved from the new HIS

  • For a period of time, users may notice duplicate reports from Joseph Brant Hospital in ClinicalConnect.

  • It's recommended that users have the Encounter Filter set to "All Regional Encounters" to ensure ClinicalConnect displays all available data for a patient.

The following pertains only to data entered into JBH’s new HIS from November 1, 2026 onwards; historical data (pre-November 1, 2026 is unaffected):

  • Pharmacy data will not be available in the Pharmacy module of ClinicalConnect.

  • New Results Indicators will not appear for JBH’s reports for the time being; again, additional work is required to enable this functionality. New results themselves are available in the respective clinical module; they will just not be flagged.

  • JBH records that have Consent Directives applied to them can no longer be overridden by physicians and nurse practitioners. If a physician or nurse practitioner must view a sealed record, please contact JBH’s Health Records department directly.

  • JBH patients will not appear in Census Lists in ClinicalConnect.

The changes above mirror St. Joseph Healthcare Hamilton’s data integration with ClinicalConnect, since JBH is now using SJHH’s instance of its Epic HIS. The ClinicalConnect Program Office  thanks the team at JBH for their collaboration to complete this system integration.
